Mentoring Event
Hosted by: Association for Queer Anthropology
Of interest to: Students, Those Involved in Mentoring Activities
This workshop aims to increase the diversity of active AQA membership by providing long-term, ongoing mentorship opportunities to a diverse group of junior queer scholars, including advanced graduate students (ABD) and early-career professionals (postdocs and pre-tenure track faculty, visiting assistant professors and PhD-bearing adjunct faculty). The innovative speed-mentoring format of the workshop will give up to 12 mentees the opportunity to interact one-on-one with several potential mentors. Mentors and mentees will be paired by workshop organizers based on research interests and shared experiences. Following the workshop, mentees will select a long-term mentor. All workshop participants will be asked to complete a short survey to provide feedback and input for future AQA mentoring events.
