Committee/Organizing Meeting
Hosted by: American Anthropological Association and the Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA)
Of interest to: Practicing and Applied Anthropologists, Teachers of Anthropology in Community Colleges
Next November, the AAA and CASCA – the Canadian Anthropology Society/Société canadienne d'anthropologie – will hold a joint annual meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia. All are invited (especially Canadians and Canadophiles) to this informal organizing meeting (with refreshments). How can we make the joint meeting truly integrated, despite the disparity in size of our organizations? How can we work to recognize First Nations' rights and territories as well as Canada's official bilingualism? What common threads and tensions resonate between Canadian and US anthropologies today?
