This is a special event to honor Sharon Kaufman, an innovative thinker and theorist whose work has explored the changing culture and structure of US medicine; health care delivery at the end-of-life, the relationship of biotechnologies to ethics, governance and medical practice; and the shifting terrain of evidence in clinical science. Sharon is a pioneering role model for anthropologists working in medical settings offering a sustained commitment to mentoring junior scholars. The participants in this special event have been deeply influenced by Sharon’s scholarship, mentorship, and friendship. Join us to celebrate Sharon's impact on the field of medical anthropology.
